The challenge
The demo's fragility was its magic — but fragile doesn't survive big drums and bright synths. The artist feared that "producing it up" would sand away everything personal.
Our approach
We kept the original whisper take as the song's spine and built dynamics around it: muted groove in the verses, full bloom only in the final chorus. Close-mic intimacy preserved, sibilance tamed, nothing quantized to death.
